Pharmacy Technician Of The Year
Nancy Castro
Congratulations to Nancy Castro, ISHP Technician of the Year for 2010. In his nomination letter, Lamoine Gearhart said:
It is with great pleasure I nominate Nancy Castro for “Technician of the Year”. For three years, Nancy has worked for me as a Pharmacy Technician. Nancy is a highly intelligent lady with abundance of energy and enthusiasm. She has extraordinary computer skills and was instrumental in putting our computer upgrade on line. In these three years, I have not found her to make an error in the interpretation and entering of a prescription in the computer.
Nancy has coached the middle school volleyball team for the past five years and has added this year the coaching of the high school volleyball team.
Nancy remains calm and unflustered under stress. She has the clarity of thought in expressing herself regarding pharmacy situations and assessments. Nancy gives 120% of her energies to the business 100% of the time. She arrives for work early every day, ie, punctual plus.
She is a lady of integrity, knows and adheres to the pharmacy lawand has and excellent working knowledge of drugs, side effects and medications thereof. I have found her to be a person of integrity. I know Nancy could excel in any pharmacy setting. Nancy is an excellent problem solver and a pharmacist could not ask for a better adjunct to his/her practice. She is able to tactfully guide her relief pharmacist.
All-in-all, it is a real pleasure to work with Nancy and is the best I have seen in 47 years of pharmacy.
